About Maria Oddo
Educational Resource Services Trainer

Maria Oddo is a school psychologist who has worked at several
schools in southwest Ohio. She has worked in elementary and
middle schools in both rural and urban environments. In her
role, Maria has collaborated with teachers, principals, district
personnel, and county leaders to develop best practices. She
has functioned as a direct service provider and as a consultant
where she has helped to develop and implement intervention
plans and monitor student progress.
Maria obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology with minors
in clinical psychology, sports psychology, school psychology and
counseling psychology at Canisius College. After graduating college, she taught preschool
students locally. She returned to school in 2002 and obtained her master’s degree
in education from the University of Cincinnati as a school psychologist in 2004. Since then
she has been working with schools in various capacities and has continued her education,
working to obtain her doctorate in school psychology at the University of Cincinnati.
In southwest Ohio, she has worked as a consultant on a Reading First Grant and with
local schools and agencies. She has led and supervised graduate school psychology
students and has also taught undergraduate teachers at the University of Cincinnati.
Dr. Oddo completed her doctorate at the University of Cincinnati in the area
of literacy within a multi-tiered service delivery model. Maria has expertise in a number
of educational best practice areas including multi-tiered service delivery, response-tointervention,
positive behavior supports, literacy, assessment, data-based decision
making, and collaborative problem solving. Maria has presented locally and nationally
in these areas. Maria’s presentations are based on peer-reviewed research articles, welldeveloped
theories, and personal experiences.
