            Dr. Shawn Stewart is a licensed psychologist and professor of psychology at Cumberland University. He is an award winning psychologist heralded as a “Psychologist for the Next Generation”. Dr. Stewart focuses his time teaching, running a multi-city private practice (Haven Counseling and Consulting Services) and consulting with Corporations and Schools nationally and internationally. Dr. Stewart has been a featured newspaper columnist and Radio Show Host of “On the Couch.” A nationally known speaker he travels frequently with the motto “Dare to Change.”

            Dr. Stewart holds a Ph.D. from Tennessee State University in Counseling Psychology with a specialty in school based applications. An expert in motivation he completed his post doctoral training at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Dr. Stewart maintains licenses in psychology as a Health Service Provider and also a certified Applied Behavioral Specialist. Dr. Stewart is a recognized behavioral specialist working for the State of Tennessee as one of their behavioral experts for the State Board of Education specializing in the area of intervention for Autism Spectrum and other Developmental Disabilities. Recognized as an expert in both state and federal jurisdictions he not only consults but maintains an active caseload of autism spectrum clients and their families.

            Dr. Stewart’s brings a needed balance of real world experience, research and dynamic style of presenting to a topic which is frustrating teachers, parents and school systems alike. A fourth generation educator he connects to the heart of the issue, where children meet the classroom and the classroom meets the real world.
